Ile Maurice: A trip to heaven and back...

I guess, as with everything, an idea must start somewhere, and ours began over a Nando's lunch (as my poor memory recalls).

The jist of the story was simply, LETS GO TO MAURITIUS. And so, we did!

Although I'm biased, you Have to visit Mauritius at least once in your life, if not for the beaches and amazing hotels, then for the food!!! The snacks and local delicacies are unbeatable... and feel free to drop by to see my Nan, she knows a few phrases in english, namely, "Eat?" and "Drink?" which is pretty much all you'll need! And the liquors hidden under the kitchen sink so help yourself ;-)

As we've been there done that, there really is no point giving you a day-by-day break down of what we did, but some MUST mentions include Mon Choisy beach, which is the longest most beautiful stretch of beach in Mauritius (in my opinion), Pointe aux Piment beach is the perfect location for a beautiful sunset, Grand Basin is a beautiful must see lake temple and explore the Port Louis market and street food! It's well worth going for a day boat excursion to one of the neighbouring small islands, particularly Ile aux Cerf, and if you can, DEFINITELY tour the island by helicopter! The views are stunning!

Just have a look-see at some of the pictures...

And finally... the sun setting on our Mauritian adventure: Big Coco<3Bear Love!

As for places to stay, we spent most of time in my family home, but also stayed at the Royal Palm, which was beyond idyllic, and I highly recommend it (especially for the Clarins Spa), and had it not been closed for refurb, we would've stayed at the Trou aux Biches hotel, which is my favourite hotel on the island!

All I can say is, it was AMAZING... so amazing in fact, that we spent the next year stuck in the holiday blues!

And so, as with all Yusi and Yovna ideas, we sat there, obviously eating, reminiscing and moping about how much we wanted to go back to Mauritius and laze on a beach. Then it hit us... LETS GO TO CHINA! And so... China, HERE WE COME!

Until next time,
Big Love,
Coco<3Bear
